Times

Electrostatic powder spraying technology appeared in the 1960s, mainly applied to metal surface coating. In the late 1990s, with the development of powder coating and spraying equipment, it is possible to apply electrostatic powder spraying technology to non-metal surface.

Characteristics of Electrostatic Powder Spraying

Since powder coatings spraying technology entered the coating industry, the market share of powder coatings in general industrial coatings has been increasing year by year. The reason is that powder spraying technology has unique advantages.

Reducing environmental pollution

With the stricter and stricter regulation of the content of organic volatiles (voc) in the atmosphere by the environmental protection law, the coating industry has been trying to develop the coating technology with milder environment. After long-term research and experiments, it has been found that "electrostatic powder spraying" is the cleanest coating technology that can be achieved at present.

Powder coatings do not use volatile solvents such as organic solvents, water and other volatile solvents. They are inorganic solvent-based coatings, which greatly reduces the pollution caused by solvents, including poisoning incidents caused by operators due to the presence of organic solvents, and do not cause fires due to organic solvents.

Since the powder coatings came out, there has been no major safety accident caused by powder coatings.

Powder coatings are pure solid coatings. They can be fully sprayed by automatic spraying. Large or super-sprayed powders can be easily collected by the recycling system to achieve the purpose of recycling. Therefore, the use rate of powder coatings can reach almost 100%, which makes the coating industry reduce the cost of waste disposal, and at the same time, the degree of environmental pollution can be minimized. The economic benefit is remarkable.

Conductor automatic vulcanization line

Among the components formed by the coating, the solvent type is about 60%-65%, while the efficiency of powder coatings is almost 100%, and the powder which is not attached to the sprayed object can be recycled. Generally, powder spraying technology is used in the coating line of the steam drive shaft, the motor coating line and the conductor automatic vulcanization line, which can make the coating operation as economical and effective as possible. In powder coating operation, if there is a bad spraying area, it can be blown out by air spray gun before baking, and then re-coated. Therefore, the phenomenon of surface paint flow and dropping can be avoided, and the probability of re-painting and rework can be greatly reduced. Due to the application of electrostatic spraying in powder spraying, the painting equipment can almost be fully automated, and the painting line of automobile parts saves human resources. Even if manual assistance is needed, the painting personnel can master the operation skills without long-term training. Powder coatings are 100% solid without adding any solvents, so the amount of coatings is reduced, packaging is saved and storage space is reduced.

Energy conservation

Powder coatings have no organic volatiles, avoiding waste caused by volatilization to the atmosphere, so compared with liquid coatings, energy costs are greatly reduced. Thick film can be obtained by electrostatic spraying equipment at one time, without repetitive spraying or primer, which is faster and more efficient than that of the same film thickness. No stationary time is needed in painting equipment, which can save equipment space. In addition, the baking time of powder spraying is shorter than that of liquid spraying, so the consumption of fuel energy can be greatly reduced, the painting line can be shortened, and the output and production efficiency can be improved.

Excellent film properties

As long as the powder coating is directly sprayed on the surface of the pre-treated MDF sheet and baked, the coating surface with excellent performance can be obtained. General powder coatings have durable properties, including abrasion resistance, impact resistance, tightness, toughness, corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. In addition to the above advantages, outdoor powder coatings also include high weather resistance and pollution resistance. High-thickness coating can be obtained by one-time spraying of powder coatings. The film thickness can be between 50-300 m, and there is no dripping or stagnation phenomenon when solvent coatings are thick.

Electrostatic powder spraying process:

Powder coatings are sprayed onto the surface of workpieces by electrostatic powder spraying equipment (electrostatic spraying machine). Under the action of electrostatic force, the powder will evenly adsorb on the surface of workpieces and form powder coatings. After high temperature baking and leveling curing, powder coatings become final coatings with different effects (different kinds of effects of powder coatings).
