Full diversion system refers to the system in which the original water diversion system and the intermediate water supply system cover the buildings in the whole area. In the main buildings of the building district, the system has sewage (waste) water distribution pipes (two sets of drainage pipes) and tap water supply pipes (two sets of water supply pipes) of medium water and purified air supply system. Complete distributary drainage system has both sewage drainage system and rainwater drainage system. Domestic sewage and industrial wastewater are discharged to the sewage plant through the sewage drainage system and discharged into the water body after treatment; rainwater is discharged directly into the water body through the rainwater drainage system.

The incomplete distributary drainage system only has sewage drainage system, and there is no complete rainwater drainage system. All kinds of sewage are sent to the sewage plant through the sewage drainage system and discharged into the water body after treatment. Rainwater flows through the ground into the unsystematic open channel or river, and then into the larger water body. Semi-shunt system (also known as interception shunt system) has both sewage drainage system and rainwater drainage system. The reason why it is called semi-shunt is that it should set up rainwater jump wells on the rainwater main pipe, which can intercept the initial rainwater and street surface flushing wastewater into the sewage pipeline. When the flow rate of rainwater main pipe is small, rainwater and sewage are introduced into sewage treatment plant together; when the flow rate of rainwater main pipe exceeds the interception amount, jump over the interception pipeline and discharge into the water body through the rainwater outflow main pipe.
